Ahsan Manzil is located in Islampur of Old Dhaka on the banks of Buriganga river. The century-old history of Dhaka is associated with Ahsan Manzil. Ahsan Manzil is considered as one of the best architecture among the old buildings of Dhaka. This palace, which contains many memorabilia of the Nawab family, is currently being managed as a museum.
Built in the 19th century, the palace has been described as “the most splendid Mughal palatial structure in Bangladesh”. The two-storied palace was constructed in the traditional Mughal style of architecture with a luxurious palace, large courts, gardens, and outbuildings.
Ahsan Manzil established by work start 1859 and completed in 1872. It was built by Muhammad Akram Khan, the superintendent of the Dhaka Nawab Estate, under the patronage of his son, Nawab Khwaja Abdul Ghani. The palace is made up of several large and small buildings, including the main building, two gates, a mosque, two watch towers, and a baoli. The main building is a two-storied structure with a large central dome and four smaller domes at the corner. The interior of the main building is decorated with intricate designs, including a large chandelier and ornate furniture.

There are a total of 4 thousand 77 signs. 23 rooms of Ahsan Manzil are open for exhibition. The nine rooms are served as in the old days of the Nawabs. The Ahsan Manzil Museum is open for visitors from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 am to 4 pm. It is closed on Mondays.
Ahsan Manzil Ticket Price
Visiting Ahsan Manzil You can collect entry tickets for general visitors at a Ahsan Manzil ticket price of Tk 20 per person. The Bangladesh government has set a price of Tk 300 per person for visitors from SAARC countries and Tk 500 per person for visitors from other countries. No ticketing will be required at Ahsan Manzil for disabled visitors. They should only show their disabled ID card. And for students, if they apply in advance, they can visit the Ahsan Manzil Museum for free.
Note that the ticket price for children below 12 years has been fixed at Tk 10 per person.

How to go Ahsan Manzil
Get off at Victoria Park in front of Jagannath University by any bus other than Victor, Ajmeri Glory, Mirpur United Bus, Savar Paribahan, Sky Line, Suprabhat, Swajan Paribahan, Tanzil Paribahan, Victor Classic, Bus No. 7 bound for Dhaka Sadarghat. There you can go to Ahsan Manzil Museum by rickshaw fare of Tk 30.
Also, you can come to Gulistan from anywhere in Dhaka and go to Ahsan Manzil via Nayabazar intersection and get down before Babubazar Bridge by rickshaw.
