Aiming to retain the culture and folk art of present-day rural Bangladesh, on March 12, 1975 Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin established the Sonargaon Museum or “Bangladesh Folk Art and Craft Foundation” in the old house of Sonargaon, Panam Nagar. Panam City is spread over an area of about 16 hectares. Nearby are the traditional houses of Gopinath Saha Sardar, Zainul Abedin Sculpture, Bangabandhu Speech Bust, Zainul Abedin Museum, Crafts Village and vast gardens surrounded by greenery.

This Sonargaon Museum has more than 4500 ancient exhibits. There are also various products of various artistic crafts made by the traditional village artists of Bengal. Each item reveals the incomparable rural history of ancient Bengal. Apart from this, in the various galleries of the museum, you will see a variety of ancient artifacts including ancient ornaments. Which is fascinating. All information collected by goroli.com
